Anon: A Charles II silver gilt toilet service, repousse and chased with classical subjects, masks, flowers and foliage in acanthus foliage borders unmarked, circa 1680, comprising: i) A pair of oblong boxes, 26.7cm. long. ii) Two pairs of circular boxes, A) & B) 12.7cm. diameter, C0 & D) 8.9cm diameter, iii) A pair of two-handled circular bowls and covers, 14cm. diameter. iv) A pair of hexagonal scent bottles, 15.2cm. high. A pair of small powder vases and covers, 10.8cm. high. v) An oblong pincushion casket, 16.5cm. long. vi) An oval clothes brush, 12.7cm. long. vii) A whisk, 12.7cm. long. viii) An oval dish, 44.5cm. long. ix) A pair of circular salvers on central feet, 26.7cm. diameter. x) A helmet-shaped ewer on circular foot with harp-shaped handle, 20.3cm.. high. xi) A mirror with shaped cresting, c.1704 and associated wtih this toilet service, engraved with the arms of the 1st Duke of Portland, 76.2cm.
