A pair of Louis XV ormolu and celadon porcelain pot-pourri vases, the two-handled covers with flowerhead finials, the pierced necks and bases supported on flowering branches and winged griffins, on scrolling triangular bases cast with foliage, wave ornament and flowerheads, the ormolu struck with the C-courronne poincon (one cover cracked) - 15 1/2in. high. The C courronne poincon, was a tax levied on any alloy containing copper, March 1745 to February 1749
