Gobelins Tapestry Factory: Seven panels of tapestry to designs of Neilson, Jacques, 1714-1788, incorporating panels after paintings by Boucher, Francois 1703-1770, illustrating episodes from the legend of Amyntas and Sylvia. Woven for the 3rd Duke of Portland in 1783, or possibly purchased by the 4th Duke of Portland in 1833. i) A rectangular panel with two oval cartouches, ii) Another, with two cartouches flanking a fireplace opening, iii) Another with an oval cartouches, iv) A set of four over-doors with vases of flowers.
