A Norwegian cylindrical peg tankard and cover, on lion and ball feet, chased above with sprays of flowers, engraved with cypher and initial, the cover with floral border inset with a gilt coin and lion and ball thumbpiece - circa 1700, makers mark only NM conjoined in an oval. 8 1/4in high.
