An important pair of George II mahogany library desks of angular outline, the tops with tangential corners to the front and projecting squares at the corners supported by scroll shaped pilasters, carved with acanthus leaves and entrelacs and leafy paterae at the capitols, the front fitted with a shallow long drawer above, on arched and recessed arcade containing three other drawers, an arrangement of four various drawers fitted to tangents over an arched and recessed plinth, plain sides and recessed arch plinth below, fitted original gilt metal rococo handles and escutcheon plates and lifting handles to the sides, 62in wide.
