Maker:  Maker Unknown
Intaglio Collection - no.239 Engraved emerald ...upon which two Arabic versus are engraved, of which it is difficult to make a translation, but the meaning is that the name of Sir Richard Worsley, a privy councillor of Great Britain, has been engraved on this precious stone. The emerald came from Egypt, and the engraving was done by a Turk at Constantinople in May 1786 (Worsleys Journal).
