A George III mahogany and chequer strung longcase clock of extravagant design, the swan neck pediment with gilt and black glass panels and cast brass eagle surmount over arched brass dial with moon phase dial and inscription "Time Shows The Way of Lifes Decay", silvered engraved centre dial and chapter ring, gilt brass mask spandrels, the 8-day movement striking on single bell with subsidiary strike on eight graduated steel bells flanked by turned Corinthian columns above Gothic arched trunk door flanked by cluster columns on base with canted sides and ogee bracket feet, 255cm.
