A pair of early George III mahogany side chairs having rectangular backs upholstered in contemporary gros and petit point needlework, (A.F.), depicting figures around a table, the seats with scenes of idyllic gardens, each panel surrounded by flowers and strap work and berries on a yellow field, raised on cabriole legs, boldly carved with cornucopia of acanthus and sprays of acanthus to the knees, pad feet, the well splayed back legs with cornucopia scrolls to the spandrells. A.F. denotes at fault or damaged.
