A pair of George III painted and giltwood side tables by Gillows of Lancaster, each with white marble top and pierced gallery, with slightly recessed centre on reeded cylindrical tapering legs with leaf-carved capitals and bases, the friezes applied and gilt with anthemion on a black ground, 52in. wide, (2). Invoiced in 1797 as 2 elegant Pier Tables; statuary Marble Tops/with Brass Rims round, on Black and/Gold Frames, highly finished 35.14s. Part of a bill receipted by R.G. & R. Gillow & Co., 21 December 1797, totalling £161.8s (GJ 423)
