A late George II giltwood wall mirror, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the rectangular arched and divided centre-plate within foliate clasps and strapwork, with shaped slip-plates framed by leafy branches, C-scrolls, and wave-motifs, the corners with stalagmites, and the apron centred on an oval cartouche overlaying acanthus scrolls, the waisted arched crest finely carved with a pagoda enclosing a Chinaman, flanked by moulded uprights and a trellised Gothic arch, framed by C-scrolls, rockwork and other rococo motifs, 6ft. 8in. high (203cm) by 3ft. 5in. wide (104cm).
