A George III Carrara marble chimney-piece, circa 1790, the rectangular moulded shelf of inverted break-front form above a frieze with anthemion and scrolls with wide jambs formed of classical female figures in three-quarters relief, holding sprays of flowers and leaves and standing on garlanded and fluted podiums, fitted glass-screen with chain-mesh interior curtains, 4ft. 3 1/2in. high (130cm) by 7ft. 3in. wide (221cm).
