A George II two-handled oval soup-tureen, cover and liner on four matted scroll feet surmounted by winged busts, the matted body applied with strapwork and rococo cartouches and with boars' mask handles, the narrow rim with shells and scrollwork, the cover similarly decorated and with reed and foliage rim and scroll handle chased with masks and shells, engraved with the Strangways coat-of-arms - by Paul de Lamerie, 1736, the liner 1797, 17 1/2in. wide.
