An Elizabeth I silver-gilt-mounted Ming porcelain vase-shaped ewer, the foot mounts chased with lobes, the spout terminating in a grotesque mask, the neck chased with stylised foliage, the box lock similarly engraved and with demi-warrior thumbpiece and hinged domed cover chased with masks and fruit, inset with a coat-of-arms painted on glass - maker's mark three trefoils within a shaped shield, 1584 10 1/2in. high.
