A set of eight George II mahogany dining chairs, including two armchairs of later date, the backs with reeded uprights and shaped toprails carved with shells and C-scrolls and with foliate clasps, the armchairs with curved and scrolled arms, the drop-in seats covered in plain cut green velvet, with plain rails on cabriole front legs carved at the knees with acanthus leaves ending in claw-and-ball feet, and joined by a gadrooned moulding, with plain back legs with square toes - circa 1755.
