A George III mahogany bureau bookcase, the upper section with two glazed doors each with elaborately carved glazing bars below a carved cornice surmounted by a scrolled broken architectural pediment supported by elaborate blind fret carving, the doors enclosing shelves above three short drawers, the fall-front enclosing a well-fitted interior, the central mirrored compartment designed as a temple, with intarsia work flanked by concealed upright drawers, pigeon-holes and small drawers, with two short and three long graduated drawers below with later beaded surround, the frieze and bracket feet carved with further foliate designs.
