The Arms are those of Proby impaling Cotton, for Thomas Proby Bart, of Elton Hall Co. Hunts who married Frances daughter of Sir Thomas Cotton 2nd Bart and was father of Alice wife of Thomas Watson-Wentworth father of Thomas 1st Marquess of Rockingham.
