A pair of William and Mary fluted column candlesticks on spreading square bases with moulded borders, engraved with a coat-of-arms in crossed plumes, with square sockets - 7 1/4in high, 1693 makers mark W E Mullett below. The Arms are those of Proby impaling Cotton, for Thomas Proby Bart, of Elton Hall Co. Hunts who married Frances daughter of Sir Thomas Cotton 2nd Bart and was father of Alice wife of Thomas Watson-Wentworth father of Thomas 1st Marquess of Rockingham.
