A glazed frame, a pair to Item 160, containing 22 small trial pieces, including: Eight impressions from ancient intaglios. One dipped pink and white jasper oval medallion. One dipped black and white jasper small cameo of Cupid and Psyche. Two dipped brown and white jasper small cameos, of which one of Hercules and the Nemean lion. One dipped pale sage green and white jasper oval medallion of Apollo and Marsyas. One solid dark blue and white jasper miniature oval portrait medallion of an unidentified modern. Four dipped dark blue and white jasper square medallions with chamfered corners, of Jupiter with his eagle, two male figures in mourning before a tomb, a mourning female figure and Cupid with a lyre. One dipped pale blue and white jasper oval medallion on a dark blue jasper base (the blue surface has turned green) with the same motif as the last mentioned. Two dipped dark blue, purple and white miniature octagonal cameos of Cupid. In the middle, a solid pale blue and white jasper oval portrait medallion of an unidentified person in profile to the right, but see note on provenance below 54 mms high.
